I started my spring with a nasty chest cold that took me two weeks to get over. I'm perfectly fine now, although it's starting to look like I may have a mild allergy to something growing around here. Oh, joy. :eyeroll:
Roughly two weeks after I had regained my health, on a normal morning, police suddenly pounded on our front door and asked us to step outside. It seems there was an attempted home invasion about five doors down, and someone thought they saw the perp dive into our house. He hadn't; and he'd be sorry if he had. You know my cute "little" puppies? They're both well over a hundred pounds now, and have long since gotten into the habit of barking at strangers. As I told one officer, "Anyone who broke into our house would run into two hundred pounds of dog - I think we'd notice." Still, it was scary; the police patrolled the area (including walking on the stone walls that separate the houses)for a couple of hours before they left. I don't know if they caught the guy or not. I tell you, there's nothing like starting your day with armed police officers on your front porch.
To top it all off, Gus (the puppy in the red collar) was sick this last weekend. Nothing serious, but he vomited a few times and didn't eat much. He's much better now, though; he's eating again and running around and wrestling with his brother. It's a relief, I can tell you; I was wondering if he needed to go to the vet.
On a more positive note, we saw Wolverine last week. My only complaint is that much of it felt rushed. Otherwise, I thought it was really good!

Need a Proofreader?
I'm a semi-professional proofreader (I've been proofreading for give-or-take ten years, I just haven't been paid for it) looking for business:
I find and fix spelling and grammar errors, typos, poor phrasing, and formatting, for $2 a page.
For $3 a page, I will also recommend improvements on and additions to the content itself.
I have a quick turn around and am quite friendly to work with.
Please note, I am NOT offering to write terms papers or anything like that for you - I'm not helping you cheat! You send me what you have, and I help fix it up - that's it!
Send the documents in .doc, .pdf, or .odt format. If you are interested, e-mail me at rhiannon@sa-tech.com. I prefer to be paid by check or money order for now; eventually I'll probably have a Paypal account.
Oh, and one more thing - if you send me a story that has made-up words in it, let me know about them ahead of time so I don't try and fix them!

Wait, don't you live out in the desert part of CA now? I didn't think that there was anything out in that semi-arid clime that could give you allergies. At least not like here in the NE, where I get to wake up to find a bright golden dusting of pollen covering my newly washed car. I really should buy stock in Kleenex...
Keep the dogs close and the shotguns locked and loaded, but above all, keep yourselves safe.

We always try our best to stay safe; that's one of the reasons we like big dogs and guns!
