Anyway, much has been happening to me of late; my family has moved from Fort Worth, Texas, to Palmdale, CA, because of work. So far, Palmdale seems quite nice, but moving is a royal pain and I miss my friends in Texas. I'm afraid I'm in a sad spot - I lived in South Cali for fifteen years, then moved to Texas, and am now back; when I'm in Texas, I'm homesick for CA, but when I'm in CA, I'm homesick for Texas! I've moved so any times in my life, I never entirely feel like I belong anywhere. And, just to add to my issues, our not-quite-11-year-old Great Dane, Jasmine, had a heart attack and died in our car as were getting ready to leave TX.
On a much cheerier note, Healer on Feathered Wings has been updated this week, and we're meeting a new character! [link] Remember folks, I don't always manage to mention every update, so there may be even more pages waiting for you if you're depending on me to tell you when to check.
I'm working on various original projects, including a complete re-write of The Bloodstone. Same characters, same basic universe, completely different plot. I'll post the first chapter here so you can see the new direction its going in, but after that, I think I'll be keeping it to myself; I have a good feeling about its publish-ability! I'm also working on a new comic series, "Magic Perfume", which I will give you a sneak peek of when I have my own computer back (we're in temporary housing and working off laptops, and I don't have all of my writing projects with me; I brought along the script for the second issue, but not the first); well, of the script, anyway.
That about covers it for now, I think. I'll update again in my new house!
Need a Proofreader?
I'm a semi-professional proofreader (I've been proofreading for give-or-take ten years, I just haven't been paid for it) looking for business:
The regular package includes finding and fixing spelling and grammar errors, typos, poor phrasing, and formatting, for $2 a page.
For $3 a page, I will also recommend improvements on and additions to the content itself.
I have a quick turn around and am quite friendly to work with.
Please note, I am NOT offering to write terms papers or anything like that for you - I'm not helping you cheat! You send me what you have, and I help fix it up - that's it!
Send the documents in .doc, .pdf, or .odt format. If you are interested, e-mail me at rhiannon@sa-tech.com. I prefer to be paid by check or money order for now; eventually I'll probably have a Paypal account.
Oh, and one more thing - if you send me a story that has made-up words in it, let me know about them ahead of time so I don't try and fix them!
